Kayla found a career in massage therapy after discovering her love for helping people while teaching yoga. She is an honours graduate from the Massage Therapy program at Georgian College Barrie with a place on the dean’s list each year. She was also an active member of the student advisory council.
Kayla has experience in many areas of massage therapy in many settings including treatment for acute and chronic pain, pre and post-natal treatment, long term and complex care, sports massage, treating staff at Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Barrie, treating patients in the RVH Oncology ward, Georgian college charity golf events as well as providing treatment in a resort spa.
As a long time yoga student and volunteer at a yoga studio Kayla decided to take her first 500 hour yoga teacher training with Moksha Yoga in Victoria, BC and a second 200 hour yoga teacher training in New York City a few years later. She has experience with a wide variety of clientele, many of whom come to her classes to help with past injury or ailments. Her experience with yoga training and teaching is often incorporated into her massage practice as a part of rehabilitation.
Being a life-long student, Kayla enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary clinic where she can learn from other health care practitioners and continue to grow as a therapist. She is passionate about helping people better themselves and her goal is to work with each client in achieving their specific goal(s) through massage therapy and remedial exercise.
