Kayla Kent-Jarvis,

Registered Massage Therapist

Kayla found a career in massage therapy after discovering her love for helping people while teaching yoga. She is a 2014 honours graduate from the Massage Therapy program at Georgian College in Barrie with a place on the dean's list each year. Kayla was also an active member of the student advisory council.

Kayla has experience in many areas of massage therapy in clinic, spa, long term care and hospital settings with a special interest in prenatal and postnatal care. She also has additional training in Cupping Massage, Reflexology and Reiki.

Kayla has practiced yoga for many years and spent time as a volunteer at Modo Yoga (then Moksha Yoga) in Barrie. She has completed a 500 hour yoga teacher training with Modo Yoga in Victoria, BC in 2012 and a second 200 hour yoga teacher training in New York City in 2014. Her experience with practicing and teaching yoga is often incorporated into her massage practice as a part of rehabilitation.

Kayla is also currently practicing as a postpartum Maternal Support Practitioner (doula) and is studying to become a certified birth and postpartum Maternal Support Practitioner with Bebo Mia. Her passion for perinatal and neonatal care has grown exponentially since having her 2 daughters. She believes every birthing person and their family deserves proper support throughout some of their most life changing and challenging days. Kayla is also planning to complete childbirth education training this year.

Being a life-long student, Kayla enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary clinic where she can learn from her colleagues and patients and continue to grow as a therapist. She loves helping her patients work towards and achieve their health goals. Kayla also loves spending time at home by the lake with her husband, 2 daughters, their chickens as well as gardening.
