Dr. Sarah Koughan grew up in Orillia, where she developed a love for the community and a passion for health sciences. She began her academic career at Queen’s University, graduating in 2016 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences. During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Koughan developed a keen interest in chiropractic through her own treatment experiences and by shadowing many talented and established chiropractors. She eagerly applied to the Doctor of Chiropractic Program at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, and was extremely honoured to receive an entrance scholarship awarded to the student with the highest overall admissions score.
Dr. Koughan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2020. She was very grateful to receive the 2020 Walter Sturdy Memorial Scholarship, an honour presented to the student who has achieved the highest overall academic standing across the four year Doctor of Chiropractic program. Throughout her chiropractic studies, she also received awards for excellence in the subjects of anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition and diagnostic imaging. While at Canadian Memorial
Chiropractic College, Dr. Koughan enjoyed any opportunity to engage with the North York community.
During her final year, she was grateful to accept a volunteer position where she acted as a co-ordinator and facilitator of the Tri-Congregational Church Senior’s Exercise Class.
Dr. Koughan is thrilled to be a member of the talented team at Orillia Synergy Healthcare and is eager to give back to the community that makes her proud to call Orillia home.
